On this day, bath in the holy rivers has its own significance. From the morning itself, Sikh people go to the gurdwara after having a bath, etc. On this day, Guru Granth is recited, and Kirtan, etc., is performed.

After this, Guru Gobind Singh Ji gathered the disciples and established the Khalsa Panth at Sri Kesargarh Sahib Anandpur on the day of Baisakhi on 13 April 1699, whose aim was to keep the Sikh community always ready for religion and goodness.

Guru Tegh Bahadur protested the forced conversion of Hindu Kashmiri Pandits and non-Muslims. And refused to accept Islam for himself, which led to his being publicly murdered in 1675 at the behest of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
